"Born in a Shadow" is a record about goodbyes……or is it new starts? Is there a difference beyond your perception of an end and new beginning?

Georgia native Corey Pallon examines those questions on his first solo recordings in over a decade. “Born in a Shadow was written for myself” says Corey. “I wanted to go back to where I was before and just write songs and record them for me…..not for a band to record and learn to play live”.

For the past few years Corey had been the songwriter in the Atlanta band Pistolero which had released two handfuls of albums, eps, singles and 7’s. “After too many setbacks such as lineup changes and arguments I decided to call it off” explains Corey. The result is collection of songs that have a unique but familiar feel as if Syd Barrett, The Kinks and Spoon decided to start a band, record some songs and never release them. Those songs might just sound like "Born in a Shadow".

With the exception of two carefully picked covers "Lovesday Dead Down" by North Elementary and "Early in the Morning" by the great Harry Nilsson, all the tracks were written, recorded and produced by Corey Pallon with GarageBand at Shabbey Road Studios in Jonesboro GA.
